MASTERS OF VOCATION PROGRAMME (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT)

The UGC has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Masters of Vocation (M.Voc.) degree with multiple exit options at Diploma/Advanced P.G Diploma level under the NSQF. The M.Voc. programme is focused on universities and colleges providing Post Graduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their National Occupational Standards(NOS) along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing M.Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.

► Three years degree programme with 40% general education and 60% vocational education components.

► Entry level:

The candidates who have passed B.Sc. with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Computer Maintenance / Electronics as an optional
OR
BCA. Candidates should have studied Mathematics as a major or minor subject in their BCA / B.Sc. degree
OR
A Degree in B.Sc (IT) even without Mathematics in their Two-Year PU or Diploma (in Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology) are permitted, if they have SSLC level Mathematics.
OR
B.E.(IT), B.E(IS) B.Tech (Software Engineering) B.E. (Computer Science) from recognized University.

► THERE ARE OPTIONS OF MULTIPLE ENTRY AND EXIT.

► Students can exit after one year with a Advanced P.G Diploma course; and after two years with a M.Voc.Post Graduation degree

►Credits and semester system are mandatory ingredients of the scheme

► Industry partners are integral parts of the academic bodies of the universities/n colleges running the programme.

OR
B.Pharm / B.Sc. with Food Science & Nutrition / Home Science / Catering & Hotel Management / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Microbiology / other Life Sciences provided the candidate has studied Mathematics as one of the optional subjects in the Two Year P.U.C. or equivalent.
OR
B.Sc. (Ag)
OR
B.Tech/B.E. (Food Nutrition and Dietetics / Food Process Engineering / Agriculture Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics) from recognized University.
