The UGC has launched a scheme on skill development based higher education as part of college /b\ university education leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) degree, as well as Master of Vocation (M.Voc) Postgraduate with lateral entry; multiple exit option at Postgraduate Diploma/PG Degree level under the NSQF. The M.Voc program is focused on universities and colleges providing under graduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their
NOS’s along with board based general education. This could enable the graduates completing M.Voc to make meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs after acquiring appropriate knowledge. JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysore was started in 1964. The college is an autonomous College of University of Mysore and is re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade. The college is recognized by UGC as‘ College with Potential for Excellence’.

B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as Major / Optional subsector B.Pharm /
B.Sc. with Food Science & Nutrition / Home Science / Catering & Hotel Management /
Biotechnology / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Microbiology / other Life Sciences provided the
candidate has studied Mathematics as oneof the optional subjects in the Two Year P.U.C. or
equivalent, or B.Sc. (Ag) or B.Tech/B.E. (Food Nutrition and Dietetics / Food Process Engineering
/ Agriculture Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics) from
recognized University with an aggregate minimum of 45% for general merit and40% in case of
SC/ST/CatI or equivalent grade.
