About the Department
Chemistry is at the root of many cutting edge scientific discoveries, new process and products. The course allows you to challenge your understanding of Chemistry and put knowledge into practice in the lab using state of art equipment.Chemistry graduates work in the manufacturing ,pharmaceutical industries and in areas such as healthcare and environmental protection.It would be impossible to exaggerate the influence of Chemistry on the development of our modern technology driven society. Advances made in Chemical science have had a profound impact on our lives.
Our goal is to allow students to participate in furthering these advances by providing them with a firm foundation in Chemistry. We aim to fulfill this mission through the use of innovative methodologies, exposure to relevant lab techniques and hands on training,The department comprises of eight teachers with an aptitude for teaching and keep interest in overall development of students.The staff follow multidimensional approach towards academic excellence by inspiring students to participate in various extracurricular activities and at the same time sharpen their teaching skills by workshops, refresher course, seminars, research work etc.

Objectives of the programmes :
- To provide a broad foundation in chemistry that stresses scientific reasoning and analytical problem solving with a molecular perspective.
- To provide students with the skills required to succeed in graduate school ,chemical industry and professional college.
- To expose the students to a broad breadth of experimental techniques using modern instrumentation.
- To develop scientific outlook not only with respect to science but also in all aspects to life.
Outcomes of the programme :
At the end of the programme the student will be able to :
- Identify and solve problems in the field of chemistry.
- Be able to plan, execute, using appropriate data.
- Be able to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Are able to use modern library searching and retrieval methods to obtain information about a topic.

Criteria for Admission :
Admission to UG Programme is offered on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2) followed by document verification at the time of final admission.
