Overview: 

JSS College was established in 1964 and department of Political Science came into existence in 1967.The Department of Political Science in our college has always been guided by eternal values of Political Philosophy. The Department is an important discipline of humanities. It has achieved a great progress under the able guidance of dedicated teachers. It has also organized a number of workshops for the overall development of student’s personality. Alumni of the Department have excelled in the community by their valuable services in Politics and Administration. Every year we conduct state level Quiz programme on Indian Constitution. The Programme consists of three cash prizes and rolling shield
.Regularly we conduct Seminars, Debates, Special Lecture and Extra activities.

Our department has 3107 books, 1390 titles, 5 journal 100 department library books with computer, printer and internet facility.  Our staff members have attended many State Level and National Level Seminar, and presented several papers.  We are conducting special lectures from resource persons and seminar for students, giving assignments, and project works.

Our Department vision is to be known as an Institution providing need based, skill integrated, cost effective, quality and holistic education, transforming the students into globally competitive employable and responsible citizens and to be recognized as centre of excellence.
