Overview: 

The Department was established in the year 1964 and was steered by Prof. Madhavachar. Sanskrit is a repository of unlimited invaluable knowledge of  Ancient Indian Heritage. Sanskrit as a language is offered to the students of all courses BA / B Sc / B Com & BBA. The Department makes use of OHP & LCD for special lecture programmes. Personal attention and guidance is given to all students. Sanskrit Day is celebrated every year and on this occasion, competitions like essay writing, subhashitha recitation, debate, singing etc., are conducted and prizes are awarded. The department has linkage with Jagadguru Shivarathri Rajendra Research Centre. Seminars & Special Lectures programmes are conducted with the help of Study Centre.
